One of the most common questions to initiate a generic interview is
Middle East region (especially UAE) in the past 10 years has emerged as the first preference for jobs for several candidates from all across the world. It is due to some of the prominent factors which include – Handsome Pay Package, Cultural Diversity and an Appropriate Respect from Employers to a Talented Candidate, may it any domain/sector either Government Jobs, Oil & Gas, Industrial Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Banking & Finance or IT (Administration/Networking).
We have witnessed interviews with many candidates who get their resumes professionally done, but sometimes unable to represent the same in a face to face discussion. I do not even understand why they would make it too verbose with so many details mentioned. Probably they assume that an HR professional will read the resume word by word and then decide whether to shortlist or not.
Well the answer is NO.
Why somebody, like a busy recruiter would read long narrated work history of a candidate to understand whether the profile is a fit or not. It is really hard to understand that why it is job seekers clutter their resumes with the entire end to end accountability to convey their day to day duties under each experience.
let’s assume that you are selling yourself, and brainstorm on what all are those things which can make people like your cover page, so you can drive their mind to at least speak to you. The layout should be key word search friendly – It is noticed that recruiters search the resume with specific keywords to identify your experience and knowledge on a particular field.
